Imazabria
Broad-spectrum weed control in legumes and Clearfield crops.

Imazabria is an imidazolinone herbicide based on imazamox, the standard for weed control in soybean, pea, lentil, chickpea and alfalfa — legume crops that few selective herbicides tolerate. It also underpins Clearfield production systems in sunflower and oilseed rape, where the crop has been bred for tolerance. It controls both grasses and broadleaf weeds and moves systemically to the growing points.
Characteristics
- Selective in soybean, pea, lentil, chickpea and alfalfa
- Controls both grass and broadleaf weeds
- The foundation of Clearfield sunflower and oilseed rape systems
- Systemic — reaches the growing points, not just the leaf it wets
- Post-emergence flexibility
- HRAC Group B/2
How it works
Imazamox inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS). Susceptible plants stop growing almost immediately and die over one to three weeks. Legumes tolerate it naturally; Clearfield sunflower and rape carry a bred ALS mutation. Note that it has real soil persistence — following crops must be planned around it. HRAC Group B/2.
Dosing
| Crop | Weeds controlled | Dose and timing |
|---|---|---|
| Sunflower (Clearfield) | Redroot pigweed, lambs quarters, barnyard grass, broomrape, common fumitory, cocklebur | 125 ml/ha at the 4-8 true leaf stage |
| Pea | Redroot pigweed, shepherds purse, lambs quarters, jimsonweed, barnyard grass, henbit, knotweed, green foxtail, chickweed, nettle, speedwell, cocklebur | 100 ml/ha after early emergence |
| Peanut | Barnyard grass, common fumitory, green foxtail | 100 ml/ha after early emergence |
| Clover | Dodder (Cuscuta spp.) | 125 ml/ha at 10-12 leaves |
| Rice (IMI rice) | Redstem ammannia, barnyard grass | 125 ml/ha at the 1-4 leaf stage of the weeds |
Doses are indicative. The user is responsible for adjusting the dose to the growth stage of the crop and the conditions of the field. Apply under the guidance of an agricultural technician. Composition, method of application and dose may vary between countries for climatic, technical or legal reasons.
