Menibria
Two modes of action for complete weed control in maize, in one pass.

Mesobria combines mesotrione with nicosulfuron for maize. The pairing is deliberate: nicosulfuron is the stronger on grasses, mesotrione on broadleaf weeds, and together they cover a spectrum neither reaches alone. Mesotrione also produces the distinctive bleaching symptom — treated weeds turn white within days — which gives an unusually clear early read on whether the application worked. Two different modes of action in one product is also sound resistance management.
Characteristics
- Two modes of action in one product — broader spectrum and better resistance management
- Nicosulfuron covers grasses, mesotrione covers broadleaf weeds
- Visible bleaching within days gives an early read on performance
- Single post-emergence pass in maize
- HRAC Groups F2/27 and B/2
- Reduces the need for a second herbicide application
How it works
Mesotrione inhibits HPPD, blocking carotenoid synthesis — without carotenoids to protect it, chlorophyll is destroyed by light and the weed bleaches white, then dies. Nicosulfuron inhibits ALS and stops branched-chain amino-acid synthesis. Two unrelated targets mean a weed must overcome both at once. HRAC F2/27 + B/2.
Dosing
| Crop | Weeds controlled | Dose | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Corn | Velvetleaf, redroot pigweed, common lambsquarters, spotted cocklebur | 200 ml/ha | Post-emergence, 2-6 leaf stage |
| Sorghum | Johnsongrass (Sorghum halepense) | 250 ml/ha | Post-emergence, 2-6 leaf stage |
| Corn | Field bindweed, wild okra, black nightshade | 300 ml/ha | Post-emergence, 2-6 leaf stage |
Doses are indicative. The user is responsible for adjusting the dose to the growth stage of the crop and the conditions of the field. Apply under the guidance of an agricultural technician. Composition, method of application and dose may vary between countries for climatic, technical or legal reasons.
