Alphabria
Fast pyrethroid knockdown across cereals, orchards, vineyard and row crops.

Alphabria is a contact and stomach-acting pyrethroid based on alphacypermethrin. It is the product to reach for when a pest population needs stopping now: knockdown is immediate, and the label spans the widest crop range in the Sembria insecticide portfolio — apple, cereals, sugar beet, corn, tomato, hazelnut, olive, vineyard and cotton. A single 14-day pre-harvest interval applies across every registered use, which keeps spray planning simple.
Characteristics
- Immediate knockdown by contact and ingestion
- The broadest crop and pest label in the range — 10 crops, 11 registered targets
- Consistent 14-day pre-harvest interval on every use
- Very low use rates: 15-50 ml/ha on most field crops
- IRAC Group 3A — rotation partner for Group 1B, 4A and 28 products
- Effective against both larvae and adults
How it works
Alphacypermethrin holds open the voltage-gated sodium channels of the insect nerve axon. The nerve fires repetitively and uncontrollably, producing the characteristic rapid knockdown, then paralysis and death. Activity is highest at lower temperatures, so early-morning and evening applications perform best. IRAC Group 3A.

Composition, method of application and dose may vary between countries for climatic, technical or legal reasons.
Application
How to apply
Apple leafroller: treat at 4 larval clusters per 100 leaves. Codling moth: follow the prediction and early warning system — the objective is to kill each generation of larvae before they enter the fruit. Cereals: apply 10 days after emergence from the soil, at stem elongation. Corn: start when the first eggs are detected and follow with two further applications at 15-day intervals. Hazelnut: treat at more than 2 weevils per 10 nuts. Vineyard: monitor weekly from flower-bud separation (about mid-April) until berries reach pea size; treat if damage is found on at least 1 of 25 vines. Olive fruit fly: monitor adults with McPhail pheromone traps and treat at 1% damage in table varieties, 6-8% in oil varieties.
